A new bicycle and pedestrian bridge will connect the center of Vilvoorde with the Drie Fonteinen park.
The bridge (114 m long with a central span of 62 m) crosses the Brussels-Scheldt sea canal. It is a movable double bascule bridge type bridge.
An elevator and a staircase, equipped with bicycle gutters, provide access to the bridge.
The Artes - Demeyer - Ney consortium is responsible for the design, construction, financing and maintenance of the new bridge.
CSM has started production of the movable parts. Later this year, the bridge will be pre-assembled on the quay before being taken to its final location.
